IonoFlux field guide

Global band conditions

How to read IonoFlux global HF band conditions.

In simple terms

This view summarizes how often a band looks usable across many representative paths. It is a big-picture guide, not a forecast for one station.

How to read it

Compare day and night columns, then open the dashboard or run a path prediction for your own locations. Higher percentages mean more opportunities, not guaranteed contacts.

A practical example

If 20 m is strong on the day side and 40 m is strong at night, start with 20 m in daylight and try 40 m after sunset. Local noise and antennas still decide the final result.
